Consultation, risks and aftercare

Consultation and suitability
Your lips, smile, profile, proportions and any existing filler are assessed. Please disclose relevant medical information, medicines, allergies, previous complications and any history of cold sores. Treatment may be postponed if there is an active infection, irritation or another suitability concern. If previous filler has migrated or the tissue needs time to recover, adding more product may not be the appropriate first step.
Risks and downtime
Swelling, tenderness, redness and bruising are common temporary effects. Lips may look uneven while swelling settles, so the early appearance is not the final result. Other complications can include infection, lumps, prolonged swelling and vascular occlusion. Severe or increasing pain, unusual whitening or blotchy discolouration, cold skin or visual symptoms require urgent professional assessment.
Lip filler aftercare
Follow the aftercare provided at your appointment. You may be advised temporarily to avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, excessive heat and pressure on the lips. Keep the area clean and do not massage or repeatedly press the lips unless specifically instructed.
